The project
This panelbloc cleanroom has been installed at Machinefabriek van den Elsen in Bergeijk, a supplier of high-precision metal components and modules. With over 37 years of experience, 20 CNC machines and >25 well-trained professional staff members, v.d. Elsen is a reliable partner.
By using the panelbloc system, all walls and ceiling are fully flush which accommodate fast and maximum cleaning of the areas and allow for maximum cleanliness performance. With its H14 HEPA filtration and innovative design, the cleanroom easily achieves an ISO class 6 classification in the main area and ISO class 7 in the gowning area.
Customer-specific design of the cleanroom
During the design phase, our engineers integrated an ultra sonic cleaning line into the cleanroom layout. To protect the critical products in the cleanroom against contamination from the industrial cleaning line, various areas have been created. A stainless steel transfer-box with interlock system has been installed between the washing room and the main room. Exiting the ultra sonic cleaner, cleaned products are placed directly into a transfer box, in order to maintain maximum cleanliness before entering the main cleanroom area. This internal process-based layout of the cleanroom enables Machinefabriek van den Elsen to produce, assemble, clean and package both simple and complex composite products with a high degree of precision and cleanliness (ASML Grade 4 and Grade 2) in-house.
All areas are accessible via self-closing doors. This application ensures that the contamination transfer between the different areas is kept to a minimum. The cleanroom features an integrated gowning room. A step-over-bench forms the physical barrier between the “dirty” and clean zone of the clean room.
The cleanroom is built under a mezzanine floor. Maximizing the cleanroom internal height within the height restriction under the mezzanine floor required extra attention from our engineers. Due to the extensive planning, preparation and our skilled on-site installation engineers the cleanroom fits and operates perfectly. The robust and durable design of the cleanroom is very appealing to customers and suppliers and it perfectly fits Machinefabriek van den Elsen’s strategy to ensure ongoing high-precision mechanical innovation.
To ensure maximum comfort for operators large windows with double safety glass have been implemented to allow ambient light to enter the cleanroom. A bright working environment was required for optimal control and cleaning conditions, the LED panels are specifically positioned in the ceiling to optimally illuminate the working environment.
Full turnkey solution
In addition to the full design, manufacture and installation of the cleanroom, ProCleanroom has supplied the complete cleanroom furniture and accessories. This includes a step-over-bench, chairs, stainless steel tables, cabinets and trolleys. A full line of special clothing and accessories has been provided for the cleanroom operators, such as coveralls, mobcaps, gloves, overshoes, sticky mats, UV inspection lamps and UV protective glasses. ProCleanroom has also provided a cleanroom course to various v.d. Elsen employees regarding applicable cleanroom procedures and guidelines .
