Hardwall cleanroom for bioreactors
This modular hardwall cleanroom has been installed at the premises of Getinge, in Delft. This global leader in medical technology, is founded in Getinge, Sweden (1904) and made its first move into medical technology in 1932. Today in 2023, the company is present in 40 countries and has a total of some 10.700 employees.
Modular cleanroom in the office
To keep the process of cleaning, assembling and packaging of the Bioreactors as efficient as possible, this ISO class 7 cleanroom has been built within the office of the engineering department. Because the cleanroom is installed in an office environment, appearance and transparency were very important in this project. The request for a cleanroom that could be installed freestanding within the location, on the first floor, without having to make adjustments to the existing office space. Fits perfectly with our modular cleanroom system.
In addition to the technical specifications that match Getinge’s assembly process, the cleanroom also had to have a suitable appearance. In consultation between ProCleanrooms engineering department and Getinge, work has been done on a functional and aesthetically design based on transparency. Within the modular hardwall concept, it has been decided to use fully transparent wall panels as much as possible. The internal height of 2.2m gives a spacious feeling and the large transparent walls allow ambient light to enter the modular hardwall cleanroom, this ensures maximum comfort for operators. In addition to the sleek and transparent appearance of the cleanroom, opaque foil has been added to the hardwall panels, which form the Getinge logo.
To facilitate that cleanroom employees and goods can easily enter and leave the cleanroom, a spacious front area has been installed. This space is set up as a Goods transfer and gowning area, with stainless steel furniture such as lockers and a step over bench. The physical barrier of the step over bench, the use of sticky mats and the self-closing swing doors minimize the transfer of contamination between the different areas. To ensure that every step within the work processes is well lit, 10 no. integrated flush LED panels have been installed to ensure optimal lighting according to a predetermined lighting plan. The cleanroom is designed for various workstations, for which facilities have been installed such as power and network connections.
In addition to the full design, manufacture and installation of the cleanroom, ProCleanroom has supplied the complete cleanroom furniture and interior. This includes shelving units, stainless steel height adjustable tables, cabinets and trolleys. A full line of special clothing has been provided for the cleanroom operators, such as coveralls, mobcaps, gloves, overshoes,
