For Phix Photonics we have engineered, assembled, delivered and validated a fully customized ISO-class 5 downflow unit. The downflow unit has been specially designed for the Phix process – placement of microchips by means of the flip chip method. This is part of integrated photonics prototype manufacturing.To achieve the optimal level of ISO class-5 cleanliness over the full working surface, the downflow unit is equipped with a high capacity H14 type HEPA filter.
With the possibility of utilizing this controlled environment with the integrated microchip process equipment is offering Phix maximum flexibility. Only a lab-coat, gloves and facemask are required whilst operating the process, not a full cleanroom coverall which is a huge practical benefit for the operators.
