Customer experience in conversation with vacutech

21 September 2021Products, ProjectsHugo Woudsma

“Our cleanroom allows us to comply with the strictest client-specific requirements”

September 2021

At ProCleanroom, we are proud of our products and services, but even more proud of the relations we have with our clients. In this series of blogs, customer testimonials from various sectors are key. What keeps entrepreneurs in these sectors occupied and what role do cleanroom solutions play within their companies? This time we will be interviewing Jeroen Van Westing (managing director) of Vacutech. A conversation with a specialist in high tech vacuum and precision technology, about high requirements and in which ways an in-house cleanroom helps to meet these requirements.

Vacutech is a Den Hoorn based company that has been producing client-specific products, weld assemblies and product compositions for the high-tech industry for nearly 40 years. Vacutech has a modern machine pool, that prototypes and small to medium-sized series are produced with. Vacutech has a zealous team that is able to perform and combine various disciplines and they manage to stand out in applying in-house processing, welding, testing, cleaning and possible assembly of high-quality products. Long-term and intensive collaboration with clients is created by thinking along solution-oriented.

Challenges
Jeroen explains: “The market segments we deliver our products to set higher demands all the time to products and compositions. Quality, purity and leak-tightness are obvious requirements for us, but the specifications must be meticulously aligned with the client every time. The challenge is to ensure that client-specific requirements are known within all disciplines and with all employees and be fulfilled at the highest level. The final steps within the process take place in the cleanroom, but the steps prior to that are just as important”.

Solution
As Vacutech planned the move to a new building in Den Hoorn, they turned to ProCleanroom again for advice about a new cleanroom. ProCleanroom supplied a cleanroom specifically designed for the applications developed by Vacutech. The complete smooth finishing of the walls and the ceiling guarantee quick and maximum cleaning of the spaces that require a high degree of purity. The robust and sustainable design of the ISO-class 7 cleanroom, with an area of nearly 110 m2, fits well with the long-term strategy of Vacutech, that attaches high value to delivering predictable quality.

Jeroen says: “During the design phase, it was very positive that ProCleanroom has so much experience with the requirements set by our clients. This allowed us to swiftly work towards the desired end result. In addition to the fact that, thanks to this cleanroom, we can deliver in accordance with the specifications, the cleanroom was also designed with a view to the wellbeing of our cleanroom staff. For instance, large windows with double protective glass ensure sufficient ambient light. A work environment with sufficient light ensures employees to be energetic and concentrated. ProCleanroom carried out a study in advance, resulting in healthy and uniform lighting everywhere in the cleanroom. Attention was also paid to the air quality. The high-capacity air conditioning system offers sufficient opportunities for heating and cooling. The cleanroom can be accessed via the goods transfer area or gowning room. In order to ensure that the contamination in the main room is reduced to a minimum, all access doors have been fitted with automated locking systems. This keeps the transfer of contamination to the main room to an absolute minimum. Broad access doors in the goods transfer area furthermore ensure that large objects can easily be brought into or out of the rooms.

Loyal client
We certainly consider ourselves a loyal client of ProCleanroom. What we really value is that advice is always provided in a comprehensive way and that products and services are supplied swiftly. Every year, the ProCleanroom engineers see to technical inspection and validation of our cleanroom. As such, we are assured of a cleanroom that performs at its best, and this makes it easier for us to maintain compliance with our clients’ requirements”.

A smooth collaboration
Vacutech did involve ProCleanroom in their process at an early stage already. The implementation of the new construction eventually deviated from the original planning, forcing the delivery date of the cleanroom to be amended as well. ProCleanroom is a flexible partner, capable of adapting to unforeseen circumstances. After the building was made waterproof and windproof, the delivery could be started. After realisation and validation, the cleanroom was delivered turn-key and commissioned at once.
An efficient investment
Asking Jeroen about the efficiency of the cleanroom, he says: “We are content with the cleanroom. The purchase of this cleanroom did not result in more work immediately, since we also used a cleanroom in our former building. We are however able to work more efficiently, because this cleanroom was designed, in cooperation with ProCleanroom, at our discretion. In addition, the ISO-classification, relative to the previous cleanroom, has increased from ISO-8 to ISO-7. We definitely comply with the requirements set by our clients and that is what it’s all about”.

Satisfied?
Vacutech is a happy client. Jeroen concludes: “The collaboration with ProCleanroom has been really pleasant for us. We certainly recommend ProCleanroom to others. The collaboration, the short lines and the result: it was as expected”.

A satisfied customer: that is why we do it. ProCleanroom: build your expertise.
