Marine Systems is a technical service provider, mainly focused on the maritime sector. For Marine Systems we have engineered, manufactured and ISO validated two fully customized stainless steel ISO-class 5 downflow units. The units are specifically designed to meet the requirements for use in an 40ft Environmental Measurement Container for Rijkswaterstaat (Dutch government agency). The container is furnished with a fully equipped laboratory and is used for offshore applications. Water samples are collected and immediately analyzed in the on-site mobile lab. These measurements are carried out in both salt and freshwater environments. The offshore environment with salt water is very corrosive to materials, hence all structural components of the downflow units are fully manufactured out of stainless steel.

The downflow units ensure maximum contamination control, low detection limits and protection from ambient particles. To achieve the optimal level of ISO class-5 cleanliness over the full working surface, the downflow units are equipped with a high capacity H14 type HEPA filter. Latest generation EC motors have been utilized for maximum energy efficiency and minimalization of heat load and sound pressure which is very important in a compact closed space.

Ceiling mounted
As ceiling mounting was a requirement without use of front and side panels, our engineers optimized the weight and integrated mounting brackets for smooth semi-flush ceiling mounting. Integrated LED lighting provides a bright work surface in all weather conditions.

Thoughtfully designed
To ensure sufficient airflow through the pre-filters and absolute HEPA H14 filter, coaxial fans are installed. All consumable, mechanical and electronic components are easy accessible. Therefore periodic or corrective maintenance can easily be performed without removing the mobile lab container from the ship.

Full turnkey solution
ProCleanroom have supplied the complete solution from concept to engineering, assembly and factory validation of the downflow units for Marine Systems. The downflow units have immediately been put into use by Rijkswaterstaat after their installation in the Environmental Measurement Container.
