The Hardwall cleanroom
This ISO-Class 7 and 8 modular hardwall cleanroom is installed at the premisis of Machinefabriek Westerhof in Denekamp. With an established reputation as reliable partner in mechanical engineering, Machinefabriek Westerhof has devoted more and more time to serving the semiconductor industry in recent years. With the latter need in mind, the decision was made to invest in their own cleanroom. Our contact person at Westerhof, Jeroen Bos explains to us; “ProCleanroom provided us with excellent help and advice during this step. Partly because of this advice, we decided to invest in a modular hardwall ISO-7 cleanroom, in combination with furniture and consumables, specifically aimed at our process.” The furniture and advice for choosing the right cleanroom products suitable for the work process of Machinefabriek Westerhof is fully carried out by our Accessories & Consumables division. The specialists of this division, together with Westerhof, looked at the wishes and requirements and based this on a package of products.
Different products, one cleanroom solution
The cleanroom is installed in an existing part of the building and to make optimal use of the available space, it was decided to construct the cleanroom from the modular hardwall cleanroom system. This type of cleanroom is quite suitable for critical environments that need to achieve a higher cleanliness grade (ISO-class 4 to 7). The Flexible design can be dismantled, relocated and is adjustable to changing needs.

The ISO-7 cleanroom is designed in such a way that different types of products can be assembled, cleaned and packed. The design and layout of the cleanroom, including the tools, air flows, Personnel Airlock (Pal) and material airlock (Mal) areas, are tailored to specific needs and product requirements. In order to separate the different rooms and maintain maximum passage width, (softwall) curtains have been used on a harmonica system. Black softwall curtains were chosen around the installation area to eliminate ambient light during the UV control.
